The Madding Crowd

Interactions in the Virtual Nation

"Communication media, in particular, privatize public relationships allowing for the transition from communities of propinquity to communities of association."
Gumpert and Drucker (1998, p. 411)

Interactions between members of a community constitute a key part of information exchange. Those interactions are regulated by expectations, community rules, politics, and the nature of the information exchanged. Within the Virtual Nation, information exchange also constitutes the economics of the system as well as the perceived criminal elements.
