The next day, we took a bus tour that brought us to StoneHenge and Bath. Admittedly, I was *really* looking forward to StoneHenge. The legends surrounding this historic site capture the imagination before you even see it. Approaching the area, you can see ancient burial mounds in the surrounding fields.
I was warned that "it's not as big as you'd think" but was nonetheless thrilled by the visit. The wonder of StoneHenge, for me, was the sheer effort involved in construction and the mystery of the purpose. These stones were transported nearly 200 miles from where they were quarried. The weather was perfect for pictures and I took dozens - here are just a few.
